Renault is the sixth team to announce a launch date for its 2005 car, the R25, which will be revealed in Monaco on 1st February. Drivers for Renault in 2005 will be Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella. Alonso has yet to be at work this winter but Fisichella has been on the test track in Spain.

This week the Italian is at Jerez, along with team test driver Franck Montagy. Technical problems meant Fisichella did not have much track time on Thursday but he was happy with the car overall.

Meanwhile, Alonso has been doing sponsor events and other PR work and will be back behind the wheel after Christmas. "I am excited about the car having seen it in the wind-tunnel -- I am confident it will be another competitive car," he said recently, about the R25.
