Raikkonen hit with gearbox-change penalty

Kimi Raikkonen will get a five-place grid penalty for the Belgian Grand Prix following a gearbox change ahead of the race.

The Finn suffered an engine problem in qualifying that left him 14th on the grid.

But Ferrari decided on Sunday to change his gearbox, which means he will get a five place grid drop, dropping him to 16th because of the penalties handed to Max Verstappen and the McLaren drivers.

Raikkonen's penalty means that there is a total of 125 grid place drops for the race.

As well as the Finn, McLaren duo Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso were handed a 105 place drop for a double engine change.

Verstappen has a 10-place penalty for an engine change, while Romain Grosjean dropped five places for a new gearbox.
