DC ...between what the team's information is and from Renault you decide on what will be the quickest from start to finish and then work out whether that's going to be practical and today, being both on the front row, that was the best strategy.
Q Michael Schumacher, 2nd place, a stunning overtaking manoeuvre. How did you know that you could pass Damon at that point in the chicane?
MS I was 1 lap before I was behind him and I saw him going very slow into the chicane. I knew he was on very old tyres and I knew what it was like to be on old tyres into the chicane. You have to brake early otherwise you're never going to make it. I was on fresh tyres and I took the chance. He obviously made it difficult but that's what racing is about.
Q Do you think that move may have actually decided the championship?
MS I think that's a bit too early because I made another 2 points gap but it would be far too early to say that we made the championship by now because alot of things can happen. There are 4 races to go, so let's wait a couple or more races till we may can say this.
Q Damon Hill, the Williams looked dominant all weekend but you've lost to Michael once more. Do you think it's time maybe you should change you're approach to racing?
DH Well I don't even know how to start answering that question but anyway, it was a tough race, the whole race was difficult. We switched to a 2 stop on the basis that I was stuck behind Michael and we thought that Michael was on a 2 stop strategy at that point. I thought that the only way, given that I was on a 3 stop, to beat him would be to be on a 2 stop and it nearly worked, but I just was on old tyres and as Michael said I couldn't brake late for that part of the circuit and he caught me knapping and slipped through and that was the end of it. Today's David's day, he deserves, after alot of near misses, he deserves to win today. He did a great job and I'm really pleased for the team that we've got 2 drivers in the top 3 and we looked good all weekend.
Q Are you a little bit more concerned about the chapionship position now?
DH Well I think it's going to take a miracle to win the championship now to be honest. We've got 1 or 2 things to try but it's lookin a bit too far away now to reach.
Q David, do you know who you're racing with next year?
Q Can you tell us?
Q When will you be able to tell us?
DC Next week.
Q Gentlemen, thank you very much.
