Toyota driver Olivier Panis was taken to hospital following a crash during testing at the Circuit de Catalunya today. The Frenchman seemingly lost control of the car at turn three and went into the barriers backwards.

Panis exited the car by himself and appeared unharmed but was taken to Catalunya's general hospital for checks. The new TF104 chassis he was driving was not badly damanged and Panis' teammate Cristiano da Matta continued with Toyota's test programme. Panis is reportedly "fine" but there are no details yet of what caused the accident.

Only yesterday Sauber's Felipe Massa wound up in hospital after crashing at turn one on only his fourth lap of the morning at the same track. The Brazilian had check ups and scans but was pronounced unharmed.
