Olivier Panis took over the top of the times today at the Circuit de Catalunya, the Toyota driver setting a fastest of 1:17.190 over 74 laps. Driving a TF102 chassis, Panis continued to settle in to his new team and carried out Michelin tyre tests.

The McLaren duo of tester Alex Wurz and David Coulthard were second and third quickest, followed by Jaguar's Mark Webber. The Australian continued in this year's R3 while team mate Antonio Pizzonia used the interim RB3. Pizzonia managed to stay in one piece today after yesterday's crash and was ninth fastest.

Williams had both race drivers on track: Ralf Schumacher made his first appearance in winter testing and was marginally ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya, in fifth and sixth respectively. Williams test driver Marc Gene was seventh quickest.

"Ralf Schumacher joined the test team today in Barcelona alongside Marc Gené and Juan Pablo Montoya," said test teammanager Tim Newton. "Juan completed a tyre program for Michelin and clocked up a useful 84 laps with the P83 engine. Ralf also was able to complete all the test items on the list. Marc continued to put more mileage on the new P83 engine. Today was a busy day with the three cars and a full test team, but I am pleased with the level of productivity and all the hard work being done by the guys"

The sole BAR of Anthony Davidson was eighth while Renault today fielded three cars. Race driver Fernando Alonso continued to shake-down chassis' for evaluation drivers as well as brake testing. Frenchman Romain Dumas continued from yesterday before handing over to Portuguese driver Tiago Monteiro in the afternoon.
