Palmer forced to miss Mexican GP qualifying

Jolyon Palmer will not take part in qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix after his Renault chassis was found to be damaged.

The team discovered a crack in Palmer's car after final practice, and attempted to build a new chassis for him ahead of the Saturday afternoon session.

But despite both Palmer and Kevin Magnussen's crew doing all they could to get a car ready, time has run out and Palmer will be unable to take part in the grid-deciding session.

It means the Briton will start from the back of grid.
