As expected, there has been no decision yet from the Contract Recognition Board (CRB) in regard to the Jenson Button/BAR/Williams debate. The CRB met today in Milan but the hearing is anticipated to continue for another few days.

Legal representatives from the relevant parties presented their cases, both Williams and BAR claiming they have a contract with Button for 2005. According to the latest reports a ruling may not be announced until perhaps Wednesday of next week.

If so, Button will learn his future immediately before the Brazilian Grand Prix. While the wrangles are ongoing behind the scenes, BAR is still hoping for that yet-to-be claimed maiden victory at the last race of the 2004 season.

"It will be one of our best opportunities to aim for that elusive first win as the circuit should suit our car well," said BAR boss David Richards in regard to Brazil. "It would of course be the result that everyone back at the BAR factory in Brackley deserves after what has been a truly sensational year for the team."
