FIA race stewards have disqualified Nick Heidfeld's qualifying times for tomorrow's Europan Grand Prix at Nurburgring.

At the post-qualifying scrutineering, the FIA technical staff found it to weigh 598 kg, two kilograms (4.5 lbs) less than the allowable minimum weight.

The stewards summoned the team and provided the team with the option to appeal, but, as the team had no explanation for the discrepancy, they chose to accept the stewards' decision.

As a result, the 23-year-old German will have to watch tomorrow's race unfold from the confines of the Prost garage, denying the Prost team yet another chance to score its first point of the 2000 Formula One season.
