After what was an uncommonly early start to F1's "silly season", when Ralf Schuamcher was linked to a move to Toyota recently, for 2004, Giancarlo Fisichella is reportedly making it known he will be available at the end of this year.

The Italian has taken on a new manager, although not a new face to F1, Enrico Zanarini -- who formerly managed the infamously motor-mouthed Eddie Irvine.

"I was not too happy so I decided to change manager," said Fisichella. "I think Enrico will know how to improve my image. My career is not going backwards but it is a little bit static right now which is not good for me."

Rumours at the end of last year had it that Fisichella was already talking about a move for 2004 to one of the top teams. Retiring from the Australian Grand Prix last weekend with gear-box problems presumably didn't help enforce his earlier optimism with this year's Jordan package.

Fisichella did not have a good year in 2002 with Jordan, nor the previous year with Benetton. However, the Italian has managed to keep his reputation as one of the best drivers on the grid intact -- he was voted by his peers as the 'Driver's Driver' of 2002.

"I think that it will be another difficult year but I am looking forward to the future," he commented. "My goal is to be in one of the three top teams."
