It's still not over: McLaren is to appeal the decision of the stewards to not punish Williams and BMW Sauber after their fuel temperatures did not comply with regulations at the end of the Brazilian Grand Prix. The situation was investigated after the race but the stewards decided the evidence was inconclusive and no action was taken.

However, McLaren has notified the FIA that it intends to appeal the decision. Should the Woking squad be successful and Williams and BMW be penalized by the way of disqualification or time penalties, it could elevate Lewis Hamilton to fourth and hand him the drivers' championship. But equally the punishment, if any acton is taken, could be just a fine.

Hamilton finished the Interlagos race in seventh after early car problems dropped him down the field. Ferrri's Kimi Raikkonen won the race and the title but now we have to wait and see if McLaren's appeal is accepted. The stewards said the fuel temperatures were not precise enough to give sufficient doubt to award a penalty.
