McLaren has revealed that its new Formula 1 car will launch on February 21, the day before the first official pre-season test at Barcelona.
The Woking-based team is coming off the back of a disappointing 2015 campaign, where it faced both power and reliability struggles from engine partner Honda.
However, with high hopes that new design concepts being introduced will deliver a big step forward, the team is feeling more confident about its chances of making progress.
In a tweet sent on Monday, McLaren said that the MP4-31- which will be raced by Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso, will be launched ahead of the Barcelona test.
Most teams are expected to unveil their cars in the days before the Barcelona test, as they bid to make the most of development opportunities offered by the later start to pre-season running.
The first Barcelona test runs from February 22 – 25.
