The Team McLaren Mercedes development programme for the MP4-21 continued apace today at the Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track in southern France.

Pedro de la Rosa continued driving duties in the team's 2006 Formula One challenger, as his programme remained focused on front suspension and set-up. Today also saw Pedro start his Michelin programme for the week.

Pedro ended the day topping the timesheets, having driven approximately 560km in the MP4-21. His fastest time of the day was a 1m04.231, which was put in by the Spaniard shortly before 16:00.

Fellow Team McLaren Mercedes test driver Gary Paffett, who was at the wheel of the interim MP4-20, completed 480km over 127 laps as he set the fourth quickest time of the session, a 1m04.279.

Pedro and Gary will continue their programmes with the test team tomorrow, which is the final day of this week's session.
