McLaren Team official press release

Woking - Oct 25 1994

McLaren International and Automobiles Peugeot announced today in Paris that the two companies had reached an amicable ending to the agreement which linked them in the FIA Formula One World Championship.

Speaking at a press conference in Peugeot's headquarters in Avenue de la Grande Armee, Frederic St Geours, Joint General Director of the French car manufacturers and Ron Dennis, Managing Director of McLaren International, spoke of the successful relationship that has developed between the two companies over the past year.

This success has translated into seven podium finishes so far this year for the Marlboro McLaren Peugeot team.

McLaren and Peugeot recognize, however, that the long term commercial objectives of each partner were not entirely complementary. It was argued, therefore, that both parties should seek alternative arrangements which would be compatible with their strategic plans.

Thus McLaren International and Peugeot Sport have decided to end their agreement at the end of the 1994 Formula One season. Naturally, both McLaren and Peugeot Sport will compete in the last two Grands Prix of the season with the stated aim of seeking to win each race.

McLaren International will be announcing its plans regarding the 1995 season and beyond later this week.

Ron Dennis, and all of the staff at McLaren International extend their warmest thanks to their colleagues at Peugeot Sport and wish them well for their future in Formula One.
