Felipe Massa is learning a lot in his role as test driver for Ferrari and thinks the car is so good it's hard to make mistakes. Massa drove for Sauber in 2002 but the team decided on the more experienced Heinz-Harald Frentzen for this season after Massa proved somewhat erratic. The young Brazilian replaced Luciano Burti at Ferrari prior to the beginning of this season.

"Last year I had some crashes with Sauber so for sure I was under a bit of pressure," Massa told Formula 1 magazine. "But I didn't make any mistakes the first time out and I've done more than 2000km without messing up, so I'm learning! With a car like Ferrari, which is good, you can drive on the limit, and it's much more difficult to make mistakes."

Massa had long been a fan of the Scuderia and the testing role was something he thinks was a dream opportunity. Obviously he would have preferred to be in a race seat somewhere in 2003 but when that situation was not forthcoming, the test role was the next best thing.

Massa has been racking up some serious miles in testing recently. Driving the F2002 he was on duty at the Fiorano circuit last week, working on Bridgestone tyres.
