Austrian Grand Prix poleman happy with his first experience of Mercedes-powered FW37.
Felipe Massa has pronounced himself pleased with his first day of testing in the new Williams-Mercedes FW37 at Jerez in Spain on Tuesday.
Massa completed 71 laps in the car, and was fourth fastest on the day, 0.731s off the pace of the Sauber of fellow Brazilian Felipe Nasr.
“I’m happy, it was a good start, I had a good feeling from the car,” said Massa. “So many things we’ve improved compared with how we finished the season, I’m really confident that in some areas this car is already more intelligent and better setup compared to last year’s car.
I'm so happy with the first impression. The balance of the car, stability on the rear, the way you drive, everything is positive.
“Some other teams are faster, some are slower, it’s just the beginning but I’m so happy with the first impression. The balance of the car, stability on the rear, the way you drive, everything is positive.
“I didn’t drive a lot today, because of the weather in the morning, but we did OK in the afternoon. I hope we can get more mileage tomorrow to prepare even better for the next test at Barcelona.”
