Puma® AG and Jordan Grand Prix announced today the extension of their long-term team gear partnership. The new 3-year contract will provide the Jordan team with PUMA team wear, footwear, and accessories. PUMA branding will be featured on the race wear of the drivers and pit crew, as well the uniforms of all mechanics, engineers and team managers. Having benefited from a successful partnership since January 2001, PUMA and Jordan are now pleased to continue their relationship through the end of the 2005 season.
"At a time when many sponsors are re-evaluating their involvement in Formula 1," said Martin Gänsler, Vice Chairman PUMA AG, "we are demonstrating our full confidence in Eddie and his team with a long-term commitment. Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport and Jordan Grand Prix adds great value thanks to the flamboyant team personality and their uncanny ability to perform under any condition."
"We are very proud of our association with PUMA and I am delighted to extend the partnership," confirmed Eddie Jordan, Chief Executive of Jordan Grand Prix. "PUMA's products are very stylish and of the highest quality, giving us an important ingredient in ensuring that the entire Jordan Ford team will be superbly turned out when we start the new season."
Over the first two years of their successful partnership, PUMA and Jordan Grand Prix have established team wear that is high-tech, functional and stylish, both on and off the track. Consistent with the PUMA brand philosophy, this outfit fuses the creative influences from sport, lifestyle and fashion.
PUMA® performance racing shoes were first used by various drivers and teams in the 1970s and early 1980s. PUMA's newly formed motorsport division has assembled an impressive portfolio of sponsorships to complement Jordan Grand Prix and freestyle motorcross champion Travis Pastrana. These include significant activities in Formula 1 and World Rally Championship, to be announced in the weeks to come.
