Mark Webber concluded a highly encouraging second day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya by finishing on top of the lap times today (Thursday).

The Jaguar Racing driver conducted a simulated race distance after his morning warm-up, finishing with a quickest time of 1m11.46s from 114 laps of the circuit. The Australian driver also continued the team's experimentation on weight distribution and set-up and confessed himself satisfied with a good day's work.

"Reliability was the name of the game today," commented Webber afterwards. "It was a very good day and I think I've found a very good baseline with the car. On heavy fuel the car handled very very well, which was very encouraging. Next week we'll have two cars running so we'll find out a bit more as we continue our development leading up to Melbourne."

Juan Pablo Montoya finished second fastest for Williams ahead of Giancarlo Fisichella's Jordan and Jenson Button's BAR. Webber concludes Jaguar Racing's three day stint on Friday with Antonio Pizzonia resuming testing duties for the team in Barcelona next week.
