Jaguar Racing's Mark Webber and Justin Wilson completed 45 and 35 laps respectively in the two-hour Friday test at Monza in preparation for Sunday's Italian Grand Prix. Webber emerged fourth quickest, Wilson fifth.

"It was a good, routine Friday test," said vehicle dynamics boss Mark Gillan. "We went through our tyre choices, monitored brake cooling and fine-tuned to the conditions of the day. We're satisfied that the cars ran reliably and well. Our test here last week means that we are well prepared already for the challenges of the weekend ahead."

Webber commented: "Surprsingly enough, considering there was a full week of testing here last week, the track's still quite slippery. Running low downforce, like you do at this track, you particularly notice that and I had a couple of straight-on moments across the chicanes. But overall it's been a good productive session."

Wilson was on a different programme to Webber and was satisfied with progress. "I'm beginning to feel more at home in the car now," he said. "The testing last week has been a big help."
