Following reports in last weekend's Motoring News paper, which claimed Johnny Herbert slammed his Jaguar Racing team, the Briton has spoken out on such, stating he did not say anything that was printed in the paper.

According to the reports, he dismissed the team as being Stewart Grand Prix painted green and said that there had been no progress made this season thus far; however, the 36-year old GP winner from Romford, Essex, says that everything he did say was misinterpreted and that he is behind the team 100%.

"I've been quoted as saying that, among other things, the team is not moving forward," said Herbert. "I firmly deny that I said this and it is disappointing that I was misquoted in this way. I am 100 per cent behind the Jaguar Racing team. We are all sticking together and working hard to find the solutions to our problems.

He won Stewart's first - and only - victory at last year's European Grand Prix, but is expected to leave the team at the end of the season.
