With almost 100 laps of Hockenheim under their belts in the two hour test session for the German Grand Prix, Jaguar Racing drivers Mark Webber and Justin Wilson feel they have got their weekends off to a useful start.

Webber concentrated on tyre options and was reasonably happy with the balance of his car though, as ever, time was spent adjusting the set up to cater for the changes in the characteristics of the track as more rubber went down.

"It was just a standard Friday test really," he reported, "just playing nip and tuck with the car while we work through tyre options. I would say the tyres Michelin have brought us here are looking very good." Webber was fifth quickest of the session.

New recruit Wilson worked through a similar programme in just his second outing in the car after 50km of testing at Silverstone last week. "I'm still feeling my way," he admitted, "because the Jaguar is obviously a very different car to the Minardi I've driven so far. It feels a lot more positive and aggressive and I'm sure I'm going to enjoy finding out more about it as this weekend progresses."

Wilson was eighth quickest with a best time 0.9s off Webber's.
