German driver Michael Krumm, who is currently second in the Formula Nippon Championship, recently spent two days at the state of the art Benetton Human Performance Centre. Which is located at the Formula One team´s Enstone base.
Michael was tested and his fitness assessed by Bernie Shrosbree , who currently coachs a number of drivers in Formula One and the World Rally Championship. Michael has always worked diligently to ensure his fitness is at the highest levels, but the opportunity to work with Bernie and his Team was welcomed and Michael attacked the two days with his normal determination.
"I have worked with a trainer for a number of years, but to be able to work with Bernie and Andy at the Benetton Human Performance Centre was really very good. The facility is fantastic and as they are very experienced working with Formula One drivers, we have found some things that will definitely help me as I challenge for the Nippon title. Bernie is such a competitive man that he really pushes you in the best ways possible," Michael commented.
Bernie Shrosbree said "Michael has really impressed me, and that is very difficult to do. He came with a very open attitude and undertook all our tests with a great determination and pushed himself very hard. His levels of fitness are excellent, but to maximise his full potential we have structured a new program for him. This will enhance his full potential and ensure he is fully prepared for the physical demands of driving his Formula Nippon car for the rest of the season and can really push for the Championship in Japan."
