Wet track testing at Fiorano Fiorano, 5th August 1998 Circuit: Fiorano, 2.976 km Driver: Eddie Irvine, F 300 chassis 187 Weather: air temp 25-28 C, track 27-32 C, sunny Third day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari-Marlboro in preparation for the Hungarian Grand Prix and the second day for Eddie Irvine. On the Fiorano track, which was artificially soaked in water, this morning the Irish driver carried out a series of comparative tests with different types of wet weather tyre. Irvine covered a total of 101 laps with a best time of 1m 13.009s. In the afternoon, once the track was dry again, Irvine did a further 18 laps with a best time of 1m 03.394s. During the day which began at 7.30 and ended at 17h00 the F 300 experienced no technical problems. Testing continues tomorrow at Ferrari's private test track with Michael Schumacher driving.
