Ferrari principal Jean Todt said his team are ready for a tough race at the Canadian Grand Prix where the Scuderia have a good track record. Currently leading both Constructors' and Driver's championships, Ferrari are still smarting from the backlash of criticism caused by the team orders situation in Austria. Todt is confident the crowds in Canada will support them as they always have.

"We come to Canada for the eighth race of the season, leading both Championships," he said. "The Montreal circuit is very tough on the cars, with the engine and brakes coming in for a particularly hard time. The performance and behaviour of the tyres will be crucial in terms of the final result, as has been the case right from the start of the year. While this is something of a street circuit, it is possible to overtake here, unlike the situation in the Monaco Grand Prix."

"We will try and have a very good race to improve our situation in both championships. We are not yet halfway through the season and there are still a lot of points to play for. The balance of power can shift very quickly in this sport and one should never take anything for granted. Ferrari has a good track record in this race and we will do all we can to confirm that in front of the Canadian crowd, which have always supported us with enthusiasm."
