Jordan and Indianapolis in marketing agreement
Jordan Grand Prix and Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) have reached an agreement over marketing the Jordan team in the US. IMS Properties will be responsible for marketing the Jordan brand in the US, Canada and Mexico. Jordan, in return, will market IMS brands, such as the Indianapolis 500, the US Grand Prix, the Indy Racing League and the Brickyard 400.
Hungarian Grand Prix safe
The organisers of the Hungarian Grand Prix have assured the future of the race till 2006, providing the circuit has extensive rebuilding over the next three years, according to MTI.
Phillip Peter linked to Minardi
Phillip Peter is being linked to the second drive at Minardi, according to Austrian news papers. Commenting on the speculation, Peter said: "If my sponsors recognise that we talk about Formula One, then I am sure I will find the money we need to get there".
It is believed that Luca Badoer has decided to concentrate on being test driver for Ferrari in 2000.
Olivier Panis joins McLaren
Olivier Panis has officially been named as McLaren Mercedes third driver. Martin Whitmarsh of McLaren said "We have decided that we require a third driver in the Formula One programme to meet the demands of our intensive test schedule".
The signing comes just three days after Panis appeared in a French court charged with assaulting a cafe owner after a cart race.
