Salo's drive under threat - again
Mika Salo's tenure of the last seat in F1 is said to be increasingly unsure, with a split in the Arrows team over who will drive. Tom Walkinshaw is reported to favour Salo, whilst Morgan Grenfell are favouring taking the money of Takagi. The garages for Arrows in Australia are already marked up with Takagi and de lar Rosa. Any driver changes can be made up until the start of qualifying according to the FIA sporting code, though they may need the agreement of the stewards.
Hill worried about wings
Damon Hill has said that he is concerned about the high number of rear wing failures that have occured during testing this year. He believes that teams are running flexible aerofoils, and this is leading to the failures. Flexible wings were supposedly banned after Ferrari ran highly flexible front wings over a year ago. The FIA is said to be aware of the concerns, and is set to look at it at the next meeting of the rules think tank. BAR, Prost, Benetton, Sauber and Ferrari have had rear wing failures over the winter.
BAR unveils split livery
British American Racing have unveiled their new split livery car. Half the car features 555 branding, whilst the other half features Lucky Strike. Whilst the car complies with the FIA rules, it is felt to not be in the spirit of the rules
