Jan Charouz:

“Although it is not my first time in a Formula 1 car, it will no doubt be a new and interesting experience since it is the first time I drive the current car. It will also be the first time I test the new Pirelli tyres. I have driven with this brand’s tyres in other categories but surely the performance and behaviour of the PZero will be surprising. It will be a great opportunity and I thank HRT for giving me the chance to test with them tomorrow”.

Jan Charouz was born in Prague on the 17th of July 1987. He came through the ranks of the Czech karting scene before moving onto the Czech Touring Car Championships in 2002 where he would win his class becoming the youngest driver to do so.

For the following three years, Charouz competed in the Le Mans Series and 24H Le Mans race, achieving the 2009 Le Mans Series title. In 2010 he decided to gain experience in single-seater racing and joined the Formula Renault 3.5 World Series whilst also being included in the Renault F1 Driver Programme.
