Ericsson penalised for impeding Hulkenberg

Marcus Ericsson has been handed a three-place grid penalty following his incident with Nico Hulkenberg during qualifying for the Italian grand Prix.

The Sauber driver was seen weaving ahead of Hulkenberg, who was on a flying lap, at the start of Q1 on the approach to the Parabolica corner.

Ericsson was found guilty of having impeded the Force India driver and was given a penalty.

The Swede had qualified in 10th position and will drop three places.

Ericsson was also awarded two penalty points for a total of seven over the last 12 months.
