David Coulthard's McLaren-mercedes has been disqualified from its second- place finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

After a lengthy post-race scrutineering session, the stewards' statement read: "When checking the front bodywork height, it was noticed that the front wing was only 43mm instead of 50mm above the reference plane which is described in article 3.12.1 of the 2000 FIA Formula One technical regulations."

McLaren's appeal was rejected by the stewards, but the team may still take the matter to FIA's Court of Appeal.

With the disqualification, all subsequent positions are elevated, and Jenson Button scores his first World Championship point.
