In 2013, Daly competed in the GP3 Championship where he finished 3rd. He also drove for AJ Foyt Racing as a rookie in the Indianapolis 500 finishing 22nd.
With the World Cup having further ignited interest in soccer in America recently, American Conor Daly will join Sebastian Vettel in a Nazionale Piloti (National Drivers) against the "biggALLSTARS" team, composed of stars of television, cinema, and celebrity athletes from other sports. The match will take place in the Herbert-Dröse Stadium in Hanau, Germany, July 16th as part of a 'Kick für Kinder' fundraiser for Sophie-Scholl-Schule, Hanau.
Sophie-Scholl-Schule is a school of the future in which children, with and without disabilities, live and learn together. Also taking to the field will be Ferrari development driver, Jules Bianchi and Sahara Force India driver, Sergio Perez, among others.
"My soccer knowledge is minimal but I'm happy to get involved and play a part in this great cause. I'm curious how good a player Vettel might be. Germany is on a roll having won the World Cup yesterday, so I'm glad we are teammates. Hopefully he will bring some of that German skill and good luck to our team," said Daly.
In May, the Nazionale Piloti played in Monte Carlo where Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso took part.
