Juan Pablo Montoya thinks the chances of challenging for the championship are slim with the car he has at the moment but once new parts come along Williams will be closer to Ferrari. Williams are currently the main contenders on the grid along with Ferrari for the Constructors' title while Montoya and team-mate Ralf Schuamcher are second and third respectively behind the champion in the Driver's standings.

"At the moment with what we've got it will be very difficult to win. Michael (Schumacher) is a very tough contender," Montoya said. ""But it really depends on the car. That's the way it works. In Formula One it is not like you have a car you can start with and win right away. As new parts are put in the car, it evolves. The car will be a lot closer to Ferrari. The car that will be coming will be the key."

Schumacher has just been announced as the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year but Montoya did not go unrewarded, winning World Newcomer of the Year for his debut season in 2001. The Colombian, who is viewed by many as the current champion's main threat, considers Schumacher the man to beat on track: "Michael is probably the best driver right now driving in the best car. So he's the guy to beat," Montoya commented.
