Today's Grand Prix looks very promising. Flavio Briatore, Managing director of the Renault F1 Team, tells us what he expects this afternoon.

"Qualifying went very much as we expected, maybe a little better," Flavio says. "Of course, Monaco will have more variety of strategies than any other race. But we've done our homework and looked at a lot of different scenarios for this race, more than ever before. Moreover, the tyres are working perfectly and the drivers have settled very well. So we're expecting a very strong result today."

What about people at the front? What strategies can we expect to see today? "Difficult to answer," Flavio reckons. "There's been a lot of talks about a lot of people doing a very short stint in order to secure a good grid position for this race. But now we're facing reality and most of the teams are carrying a reasonable amount of fuel. This said, we're expecting quite a few teams to stop before us. We still feel our strategy will take us further in the race than any other team except maybe Ferrari. It should pay in the end."

"In Monaco, you absolutely have to avoid traffic and our strategy is based on this. I don't think people have really decided if they should go for 1 or 2 stops: they will make their choice depending on how the race pans out."
