BRAZILIAN GRAND PRIX - Interlagos, 9th April 1999 FREE PRACTICE

MARC GENE' Chassis 03 17th 29 laps Time: 1:21,897 "I am very happy: I believe that the car has decidedly improved since the Australian GP. I learned the track soon and I must confess that I like it very much. We can still work on aerodynamics and mechanics. I feel confident that we did a big step forward since the first Grand Prix."

STEPHANE SARRAZIN Chassis 01 20th 38 laps time: 1:22,578 "I must say that I was very excited today when I first got on this car which I didn't know at all. This morning I ran with the main objective to become confident with the M01 and to understand the track which is very difficult. I need to become comfortable to this single-seater because I am tall and the cockpit is small for my size. I am generally very satisfied as during the day my time improved more and more and I managed to make several laps."

Ford Cosworth - ROGER GRIFFITTHS - Motorsport Project Leader: "We had no problems and the engines ran very reliably. We are going to change the engines for tomorrow's qualifying. We shall use the same specifications but fresh engines for those we used today will become spare engines. "

Spare-car (chassis 02) is prepared for Marc Gene.
