Although there has been no formal announcement, Williams' chief aerodynamicist Antonia Terzi has reportedly left the team and will be replaced by Loic Bigois. Formerly of Prost, as well as Sauber, Bigois has been with Williams since early this year. The development of next year's car is not expected to be affected.

"There are no concerns about any rupture in the design process," a team spokesman has been quoted as saying. "Loic has been working on the FW27 all along." There was no reason given for Terzi's departure.

Terzi was responsible for the radical nose design of this season's FW26, which sported extended front wing mounts and was likened to a walrus. The concept proved unsuccessful and was replaced with a conventional design from the Hungarian Grand Prix onwards.

Frenchman Bigois studied engineering Paris, specialising in aerodynamics, and after working in the aerospace industry he arrived in F1 at Ligier at the start of the nineties. In the mid nineties he had a brief stint at Sauber before returning to Ligier as head of aerodynamics.

When Alain Prost took over the team, Bigois continued to lead the aerodynamic department as well as taking a deputy technical director role. After Prost folded he worked with Minardi, then joined Williams at the beginning of this year as a senior aerodynamicist.
