The first of a three day test at Silverstone (Tuesday 15 August) saw Jos Verstappen in the driving seat of the Orange Arrows test car. The test program included suspension set-up and electronic software development. The circuit conditions were good with sunshine in the morning and although it was overcast in the afternoon, it remained dry all day. Jos completed a total of 49 laps finishing with a third position lap time.
The second test day continued with Jos Verstappen working his way through a test program concentrating on various suspension set-ups. Once again the teams were blessed with relatively good conditions, with only drizzle dampening the track before lunch. The team was hindered slightly with a problem late in the morning and then a sensor failure late in the afternoon caused the car to stop on the circuit and brought the team's running to a halt, as the sensor change required the car's floor to be removed and there was not sufficient time to complete the changes. Jos was still able to run 36 laps in total and complete several of the test runs planned.
Pedro de la Rosa tested for the third and final day of the session. For the third day in a row the circuit conditions were dry, allowing Pedro to complete 56 laps and in the process set the 4th fastest time of the day. Pedro ran different specifications of Bridgestone tyres, while trying suspension settings and general aerodynamic set-up work.
Pedro de la Rosa:
"Spa is a good circuit for us and I hope for a better result than in Hungary. The car has been running very well and I think we have a good chance in Belgium".
"Things look good for Spa and I'm looking forward to that race. The circuit is good for us with some fast speed corners and fast straights, but also it's the closest race to Holland so there will be a lot of Dutch fans there which is nice".
