BAR have announced they are due to stay with Bridgestone tyres in 2002 and beyond.

Recent reports suggested that BAR were turned down by Michelin when they attempted to switch last month, as the French manufacturer already supplies many of the current teams, but BAR deny this.

They say they are happy with the way Bridgestone performed this year and have a good relationship with them.

The team will launch the new BAR004 on the 18th December at the team's Brackley factory in the UK, three weeks after Toyota launches the first of the 2002 Championship contenders.

The new car will again be the work of Malcolm Oastler's design department, featuring a brand new Honda V10 engine and reworked aerodynamics.
