Arrows is set to appeal the decision by the FIA that rejected their application for the 2003 Formula One Championship. When the entry list was finalized yesterday, Arrows was absent from the competitors and the FIA stated the team's application had been declined for reasons that were not publicly disclosed.

A statement released from Arrows said the team was surprised at its omission from the list: "Arrows is very surprised at being omitted from the list of entrants for the 2003 FIA Formula One world championship published yesterday."

"Arrows confirms that it has served notice to the FIA of its intention to appeal to the appropriate body for a hearing to resolve this issue. Arrows remains committed to securing the future of the team."

Tom Walkinshaw Racing's (TWR) commercial director Daniele Audetto told the Italian press: "We will appeal against the FIA's decision and we will ask for the intervention of the F1 commission." Audetto also said Arrows was still in negotiations with a German based investor but had not yet closed the deal: "It's true that they had not yet paid for us but they were waiting to do so after the world championship entry had been confirmed," he said.
