Prost are not the only team to be beset by financial difficulties, reports in the English press suggest that Orange Arrows had accumulated E24 million worth of debt in 2000, debts that would now be worth approximately E130 million.

With the costs of F1 ever rising, smaller teams without large sponsorship are finding it harder and harder to survive.

FIA President Max Mosely recently said that it would be good if top teams left a larger amount of their budgets from television rights to the smaller teams so they could balance their finances easier.
