Just prior to the 2012 holidays in December, Timo Glock was very positive on the future of Marussia when they hired Pat Symonds. Now it appears that Glock will be leaving the team.

Now is official: Marussia and Timo Glock agreed to part company with immediate effect.

While Timo Glock prepares for a DTM test, the focus shifts to which F1 driver will take the German's seat at Marussia. Apparently not Vitaly Petrov.

It use to be driver for hire but now the drivers need to bring money to the table.

After testing a BWM at Valencia on Wednesday, Timo Glock would be delighted if he could find a DTM ride.

BMW signed Timo Glock as their eighth driver for the 2013 season as they aim to repeat their 2012 championship in the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) series. Glock tested with the manufacturer in Valencia.

Tenth place is lucrative in F1's constructors' world championship, because teams finishing lower miss out on crucial benefits as set out in the governing Concorde Agreement.

Glock: "If the gap (to the front teams) was one or two centimetres, now it is ten."

Former Renault 'crash-gate' conspirator Pat Symonds was allowed to return to Formula One last year, and now he is with the Marussia team.

Marussia rookie driver Max Chilton wishes his teammate was Timo Glock who has the needed experience. At the same time both Martin Whitmarsh (McLaren) and Monisha Kaltenborn (Suber) comment on the on-going issue of drivers paying for their rides.

Alguersuari indicated he will keep working with Pirelli.
