Daniel Ricciardo qualified in the same 6th position as he did in Silverstone, Jean-Eric Vergne start the German GP in 16th place position.
Laurent Mekies: "As far as our performance is concerned, we knew the track layout here would be less favourable to us than Silverstone."
Paul Hembery: "We can exclude that the new bonding process, which we introduced at this race, is at cause for the tyre failures we have seen today."

Jean-Eric Vergne: "... I am not exactly sure what was the reason: maybe I was too close to Vettel in front of me, but I felt I lost downforce and then just went straight on."

James Key (Technical Director): "...it’s our best overall team result this year and Jean-Eric did very well to be so close to his team-mate, but on the other hand, it’s a shame to be out of Q3 by the blink of an eye."
