Renault's Jarno Trulli drives a lap of Monza:
"I will approach Turn 1 at the fastest speed I will achieve on any circuit this year, at 350 kph. Braking for Turn 1 is extremely difficult because not only do I have to reduce my speed by 280 kph right down to 70 kph, but as I am running very light on downforce, every small bump tends to upset the car. I enter the right-hand part of the chicane at 70 kph in 1st gear, and take the left-hand part at a similar speed, holding first."

"Turn 3, the Curva Grande, is in fact easily flat. I will enter at around 295 kph in 5th gear and exit at around 330 kph in top. By the time I get to the second chicane, I will have reached 335 kph in top gear. The second chicane is slightly faster than the first, with Turn 4 taken at 100 kph and Turn 5 at 120, both in 2nd gear."

"Leading up to Turn 6, the first Lesmo, I will be approaching 260 kph in 4th gear before dropping down to 3rd gear and 170 kph for the corner itself. The short straight to the second Lesmo will see me back up to 260 kph and 4th gear before again dropping to 3rd and 160 kph for this similar, but slightly slower, corner."

"The approach to the Ascari chicane sees me reach a speed of 340 kph in top gear, before entering this challenging series of curves."

"Turn 8 is taken at 160 kph in 3rd, and I will hold this gear through Turn 9, the right-hand part of the chicane, where I need to be very gentle on the throttle as I increase my speed from 180 to 195 kph. The final part of the chicane, the left-hand Turn 10, is actually flat in 4th gear, with my speed rising from 220 to 260 kph. As soon as the car is straight, I will grab 5th gear to start the run down to the Parabolica."

"Approaching the Parabolica, I will be doing 340 kph in top gear before entering this very long corner. Although the final turn is very long, once I have hit the apex at 170 kph in 3rd gear, I will be able to get to full throttle shortly afterwards, accelerating through the gears and finally straightening out at around 285 kph in 5th."

"This leads me back to the finish line, which I should cross at around 335 kph in top."
