Ameya Vaidyanathan competed in the EuroFormula Open winter series round at Paul Ricard this weekend making his debut with Carlin.
The Indian driver also made his first race appearance in the EF Open championship as one of the 10 rookies competing.
Ahead of the races, the 23-driver grid undertook testing on Friday where the Carlin driver finished 19th. He was 15th in the official test before qualifying.
Drivex School's Ferdinand Habsburg took pole position on Saturday with Vaidyanathan qualifying 18th, lapping a 2m03.111s, his quickest lap all weekend.
In the first race, Campos Racing's Leonardo Pulcini took a thrilling win from Teo Martin's Tatiana Calderon with rookie Habsburg settled for third.
Vaidyanathan, meanwhile, made up two places to end 16th in the 14-lap race with teammate Andres Keyvan just ahead of him, having started 11th.
With top six reversed for the final race, Campos Racing's Diego Menchaca took the win from Habsburg and Pulcini.
The Indian had a difficult second race, finishing 19th, three laps down on the race winner while Keyvan finished 14th.
The final round of the winter series will take place during the weekend of March 15-16 at Barcelona.
