MORTARA ADDS ANOTHER POINT TO WINNING WEEKEND

VALENCIA (ESP) 23 May 2010: F3 Euroseries driver Edoardo Mortara finished in sixth place in Valencia today, having started in eighth as a result of his feature race victory on Saturday. He has extended his championship lead over team mate Marco Wittmann by one point.

With Roberto Merhi and Antonio Felix-da-Costa clashing at Turn 1, Edo instantly made up two places on his starting position.

The nature of the Circuit Riccardo Tormo being as it is - tight and twisty, and with very little room for overtaking - making up further places was to prove a difficult task for Edo, who was right on Alexander Sims tail in the closing laps, but unable to improve upon his position.

EDOARDO MORTARA: "I was thrilled with my pole position on Friday because I know how impossible it is to pass here, and that was proved today. Starting eighth due to the reverse grid, I had to keep my expectations modest and so I think I can be quite happy with this single point, it's better than nothing. For me, it wasn't the most riveting race, but I go away from this weekend on a real high having taken 12 points and extended my lead in the championship. It was also great that my team, Signature, had all three cars come home. Well done to my team mate and friend, Laurens Vanthoor, on his podium. The next stop is the Norisring - one of my absolute favourite tracks. Can't wait."
