F3: Erik Janis ended on lap 2

The German Nurburgring did not bring any joy to Erik Janis. His run in the F3 Euro Series race ended soon after he crossed the finish line for the first time. Ho clashed with a rival after he tired to overtake him on the approach to the first corner. Erik's Dallara Mercedes was too damaged after the contact and he had to retire. It was another disappointment after qualifying.

Erik, who is a member of the Mercedes Benz junior squad, lost second place in the rookies after today's race.

Erik Janis: "What to say? Unfortunately I lost a chance to fight very quickly. I did not have a best start but i moved forward during close battles on the first lap. However, there was quick end at the beginning of the second laps. I tried to overtake Vernay and when I was alongside he turned into me. The car was too damaged to continue."

Peter Mucke, Team Principal: "Today was not lucky day not only for Erik but for the whole team. Erik had a collision and Christian Veitoris stalled on the pole. Hopefully, we will have more luck next time."
