Raffaele Marciello continues enchanting in FIA Formula 3 European Championship: also in Brands Hatch the Ferrari driver Academy pilot showed a neat supremacy on his rivals, conquering a second place and two victories “on field”.
Unfortunately the weekend concluded by an epilogue with a bitter taste for the Prema Powerteam bearer, deprived of the success he achieved in Race 3.On his car, during verification, the commissioners have found a mechanism of the gear not complying anymore with the regulations.
A technical discrepancy that didn’t advantage Raffaele’s performance, but inevitably led to the exclusion of the arrival ranking.
The balance of the British transfer is widely positive, anyway, with the place of honour in Race 1 and the success in Race 2 (after a lightning start he led all the way), accompanied by the best timings in the two Friday qualifying sessions of his group: in fact they were divided in two heats because of the short track in “Indy” conformation and the many entered in the continental series.
Therefore "Lello" continues his stable leading of the overall ranking with 214,5 points against the 137 of his first follower Felix Rosenqvist: despite of the zero points marked in Race 3 he could increase the gap to manage.
The FIA Formula 3 European Championship will be back on track on June 1 and 2 at Spielberg, Austria, for the fifth event of 2013.
Raffaele Marciello: "Unfortunately Brands Hatch weekend concluded with a disappointment due to the disqualification in Race 3, but this can happen when one works so intensely.
We all win and lose together and so it is this time, too. We can console ourselves with a lot of positive aspects that we can treasure, as our team’s supremacy throughout the whole weekend, the second place in Race 1, the win of Race 2 and the increased gap in the overall ranking.
Nevertheless we can be satisfied, then. We think about the next round in Spielberg with the same determination, knowing to have done another little step towards our aim”.
