October 24th-26th, the last race of 2008 F3 Euro Series came to the 4.574 kilometres long Hockenheimring Baden-Wurttemberg where held the first race of this season.

In Friday's free practice and qualifying, the cars of RC Motorsport did not show much competitive power, even Cheng Congfu still was the fastest one of the team, but the grid position of race 1 on Saturday for him was only 23rd. As the ending place of the whole season, Hockenheimring Baden-Wurttemberg could not keep peaceful. The race was broken up by a lengthy safety car period following multiple collisions at the Turn 3 hairpin on the opening lap with three cars retiring, and four drivers received the penalty during the race, Cheng Congfu finished the race by 15th with his calmness. Race 2 on Sunday remained the complex situations. It was marked by three safety car phases, seven cars retired; the race finally stopped with red flag when 5 minutes remaining, total 10 laps and only one full racing lap covered. Facing so many accidents, Cheng Congfu always kept his own pace and promoted his positions, he was the 12th to pass the finish line.

After the race, Cheng said, the first race of F3 Euro Series this season took place here, but unfortunately, I missed this opportunity since that time I was participating in A1GP for China team. In the last race this weekend, drivers were fighting for the points to score the final rankings; the tough competitions brought more accidents than before. However, for myself, what I should do was to keep my pace and speed, try my best to go forward. If the race 2 could be longer, I believe the result will be better.

Reviewing his first F3 Euro Series season, Cheng said, this is very important for me to participate in F3 Euro Series as the official driver signed with Volkswagen. It was pitiful that I didn't get points this year, but I have already proved my abilities by keeping being the fastest one in our team. I do hope I can do better with my teammates in the coming season.

Talking about the events after F3 Euro Series, Cheng said, because of the F3 Euro Series, I didn't take part in the first race of A1GP 2008/09 season. From now on, I wish I could go to all the races for A1 China team. Racing for the whole country is not only my responsibility but also my great honor. I will do my best and let's cheer up for our China team!
