THE HAGUE - Henki Waldschmidt has been placed at SG Formula for 2008 by the Toyota Young Drivers Program (TDP). He will race in the strongly contested Formula 3 Euro Series. At the end of 2007 the Dutchman already tested a Formula 3 car at the French Nogaro circuit. Waldschmidt will also take part in the 'Masters of Formula 3' at the Zolder circuit for the French squad. The young talent is anxious to kick-start this new step in his motorsport career.

In the last two seasons Waldschmidt raced in the Formula Renault 2.0 after completing a successful era in karting. The first year in the single- seaters was considered a learning year. All the circuits were new for him, but as the season progressed Waldschmidt learned very quickly and it paid out at the end of the season. In 2007 he was able to continue this trend. Driving for the Italian Prema Power Team the 19-year old driver scored several wins and podium finishes in both the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 as the Italian Championship. As a result the TDP gave the Dutchman the opportunity to test a GP2 car at the Paul Ricard circuit in France on June 20, 2007.

Not only is the step up to the F3 Euro Series a new challenge for young Waldschmidt, it is also the first time SG Formula will take part in this race series. The French squad has had four successful seasons in Formula Renault 2.0 and is now looking to expand its activities by participating in the F3 Euro Series.

HENKI WALDSCHMIDT: "After two instructive and successful years in Formula Renault 2.0, I will make the step into the F3 Euro Series in 2008. For me this is a fantastic move. It is a huge chance for me and I am really planning to perform well in this competitive series. The structure and organisation of the SG Formula team is professional and they do have the right crew and contacts to give me a competitive car. I would really like to thank the Toyota Young Drivers Program for (again) showing that they really believe in me and making this possible for me. On March 15 and 16 we will be testing with SG Formula at the Valencia circuit. I am really looking forward to it!"
