Canadian in Action this Weekend

Montreal, Canada, April 14, 2004 -- Twenty-year old Canadian race car driver Bruno Spengler -- a member of the famed Mercedes-Benz Junior Team - begins his racing season this weekend in the hotly disputed Formula 3 Euro Series in Hockenheim, Germany.

Similar to last year, two races are staged every race meeting. Round 1 will be held Saturday afternoon and Round 2 will go green on Sunday noon. Series' organizers expect that more than 30 competitors coming from 15 different countries will battle for victory.

"I am really happy that the action finally begins!" said Spengler. "We tested for two days in Hockenheim last week but I really look forward to racing for real. I like this race track because I won there in Formula Renault. Grip should be quite good since the powerful DTM cars will lay down a thick layer of rubber on the racing line. This year's Formula 3 Euro Series should be extremely disputed -- even more than last year. I see ten, or even 15 drivers who can win a race this weekend," predicted the new driver of the Mucke Motorsport race team.

Bruno Spengler, the only Canadian entered in this development series leading to Formula 1, will be driving a Mercedes-powered Dallara.
