Erik Janis to discover Brands Hatch
Erik Janis is ready for next round of the Euro F3 championship which goes to the track which is popular among both drivers and fans - Brands hatch. Twenty years old Mucke Motorsport driver and his almost thirty rivals are going to race on the short version of the track called Indy which is only 1929 metres long. Even the short track uses two famous corners - Paddock Hill Bend and Druids Bend.
The Czech driver is currently third in the rookie standings is looking forward to taste the famous track although it is going to be his first contact with the track. He has tried to learn about the Brands from various materials. The track was for a long time home of Formula 1 race, 1964 - 1986, and both short and long versions are still used for various prestigious championships like DTM that will be the main race of the weekend.
Erik Janis: "It is quite familiar situation for me this year - I am going to a track which is a completely new to me. Unfortunately, there are no practices on Thursday, so we will have only one practice before the qualifying. We are going to use the Indy version of Brands Hatch, which is very short configuration. We say that qualifying is extremely important in F1 but it is even truer at this track. The field of 30 cars will lap around 40 seconds and the grid position will be decisive. It will be my priority and hopefully I will do better in this respect than in the last events."
Peter Mucke, Team Principal: "Brands Hatch is a very special track. Unusually short and it still has several blind corners. We hope that we will get some points with Erik."
