FIFTH MEETING OF THE F3 EUROSERIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Once again ASM ended the weekend, this time in the suburbs of Nuremberg, with two victories in their pocket from their four drivers who took part in the race weekend. The team can now go in to the summer break with a certain serenity, however work back at the factory will double as to ensure that they are well prepared when it comes time to resume the championship at the Nurburgring circuit.

At the end of the weekend at Norisring, ASM is now 31 points ahead in the team classification, while Paul Di Resta and Sebastian Vettel occupy the first two places in the drivers championship. Kamui is 6th, the leader of the rookies, and Giedo has achieved a strong increase in the hierarchy.

Frederic Vasseur:

An almost perfect weekend with two 1-2 finishes from our four drivers. We missed out on something great with Sebastian and Paul in the second race, the former being hit by Buemi and then forced to retire, while the latter suffered from a broken driveshaft. We could have opened up a big gap in both championships, but we did well in the drivers and teams ranking, especially as our main rivals did not have a very good weekend.

Sebastian Vettel:

Race 1 :
Qualifying: 3rd
Result: 2nd

Race 2 :
Qualifications: 7th
Result: DNF

Championship Position: 2nd, 37 points

"Another podium, but some disappointments as well because the weekend could have been much better if we keep in mind mine and the team's performances. I could not make the best of start in race 1 as Giedo was stuck right in front of me and I had to avoid him. I fell back to 6th place and I then had just one thing to do: to attack from the beginning to the very end of the race.

The race itself was very exciting but I missed some laps to make the junction with Paul. My second race was ruined by another driver who hit me and prevented me from securing some big points."

Kamui Kobayashi :

Race 1 :
Qualifying: 9th
Result: 5th

Race 2 :
Qualifications: 4th
Result: 2nd

Championship Position: 6th, 22 points

"I'm happy with my two races, even though I had a bit of luck, but you have to go and get it. I need to be more consistent and right in the good rhythm in the race, which was not that easy here as I did not have a lot of time to get used to the track."

Paul di Resta :

Race 1 :
Qualifying: 2nd
Result: Winner

Race 2 :
Qualifying: 8th
Result: DNF

Championship Position: 1st, 52 points

"All in all it was a good weekend, with another victory on Saturday, an even better lead for me at the drivers rankings where Sebastian is now in 2nd place, which is very good for the team. Race 1 was perfect in spite of the high temperatures. I opened up a gap very early and then managed to keep the lead with the minimum margin. I made a mistake in race 2 and dropped to 11th, recovered and climbed back to 2nd before a broken driveshaft forced me to retire."

Giedo Van Der Garde :

Race 1 :
Qualifying: Pole Position
Result: 6th

Race 2 :
Qualifications: 3rd
Result: Winner

Championship Position: 8th, 16 points

"To secure a first win after so many troubles early in the season is just fantastic. The weekend was quite exciting with a Pole Position in race 1, unfortunately it was ruined by a very bad start. The second race was ideal thank God. The team and I worked very hard the last few weeks and we made some good improvements. We need to keep up this momentum."
