"This race marks my first at Spa but I'm not new to 24 hour events having done Daytona a number of times. I think the main and obvious differences between that race in Florida and the Spa 24 Hours is that while Daytona is a famous race for an American and has history, it is after all staged on an oval track with an infield section. The Grand-Am crowd is fantastic and I really love them when they come out and root for us.

"But Spa is very different. It's all about tradition that is so deep and so long, a classic Formula 1 race track. For me, and having been there for the test day was a great, just to be a part of this is fantastic. Spa first hit my radar in the 1960s, I am a very old guy (!) and I have the luxury of being able to look back through a lot of different years and different generations of race cars.

"Spa has always been one of the famous race tracks. Back when I grew up, we didn't have 'live' television covering Formula 1 events in the US but you got 'tape' delayed coverage. It was great to watch the Spa races and the Formula 1 events and of course I also read about them. Back then I'd go as far to say that reading about them was more exciting than watching the TV footage because the coverage was so poor versus what it is like today.

"Sharing a car in the race with Stefan will be a fantastic experience. It is such a privilege to get in to the same car, it is just a wonderful thing. Stefan is one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers of recent times and I look forward to learning a lot from him.

"I'm racing regularly this season. We are very lucky this year in the Grand-Am series and you do need luck -- as we'll need at Spa. We have always had a pretty good car and a very good team but you need luck to combine with good efforts and good cars and good equipment and this year it seems to be coming together because we have a very slim lead in the GT points although that could go away in one race. We have five more races left this season and are hoping for the best and maybe we will get lucky and win the championship."
